The RAC MOTOR SPORTS ASSOCIATION is formed to look after the day-to-day running of the sport

David Richards CBE becomes Chair of the MOTOR SPORTS ASSOCIATION and the organisation rebrands to Motorsport UK

The ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB emerges as the leading organisation representing motorists’ interests and organising motorsport events.

Its role includes:

Promoting the long-term success and sustainability of all four-wheel motorsport in the UK, ensuring the sport continues to thrive

Training of Marshals, Officials and Scrutineers

Providing strategic leadership of the organisation

Supporting the rule making and judicial process, ensuring the sport continues to be conducted in a safe and fair manner

Overseeing and implementing changes to National Competition Rules and Regulations
