Following the Border Counties Rally, the second round of the Reis Motorsport Insurance Motorsport UK English Rally Championship, the lead has passed to David Henderson whose Escort MkII is the only car to have scored maximums on both events. Defending champion – and Border Counties winner – Elliot Payne, in his Fiesta Rally2, and Dylan Fowler, driving a Micra, are both equal-second, just a couple of points behind. Now everyone has a summer break before the next event, the Woodpecker rally, at the end of August.
Although there was no MotoFest Coventry festival this year, the Autotest Arena in Gosford Street, under the famous Ring Road, hosted Round 7 of the Motorsport UK British Autotest Championship, organised by Loughborough Car Club. Peter Grimes was victorious ahead of Chris Grimes and Malcolm Livingston.
