F ormula 1 is without doubt the pinnacle of motorsport globally, and Britain is home to F1 itself, with the championship’ s headquarters and 11 F1 teams based here. We also host the biggest and best race in the British Grand Prix, which this year welcomed a record 564,000 spectators, while British drivers continue to break records and compete for victories and world championships.
What interests me, though, is not so much the pinnacle as everything that supports it.
None of these successes exist in isolation. They are the product of an ecosystem of engineering companies, specialist manufacturers, motor clubs,
