sessions, including a practice rolling start. Many who pass often go on to compete in their first event the very next day.
The F. A. T. Karting League offers regional championships for newcomers and Pro championships for drivers with at least one season’ s experience. Using electric karts across its Bambino, Cadet, and Junior categories, its nine-round championships run from May to November, with double-header race weekends at Shenington, Rissington, Fulbeck and Dunkeswell.
Finally, there is Club100. It has been building future stars for decades and it continues to provide a gateway to the owner-driver route as well as being a competitive platform for long-term racers who want to stay with arrive-and-drive.
It takes in many of the top tracks in the UK including Whilton Mill, Shenington, PFi, Rowrah and the new Kart Silverstone international track – offering top level arrive-and-drive racing, and also enables those who may wish to go on to owner-driver racing to get track miles and racing experience under their belt before taking the step up.

of Karting, explains:“ The ethos of Motorsport UK’ s Recognised Karting Pathway is to recognise arrive-and-drive karting, giving drivers opportunities to compete in Motorsport UK-recognised events while supporting the continued growth of the sport. With Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories across both petrol and electric karting, there is an option for almost everyone.
Pathway events provide an affordable, cost-controlled way to experience competitive karting, whether as a destination, or ahead of a possible move into owner-driver racing through other Motorsport UKrecognised championships all the way up to the British Kart Championships.”
Vigor explains:“ Arrive-and-drive is a great option for drivers who haven’ t got the time, or don’ t want to commit to purchasing equipment just yet, before owning their own kart, but whose drivers are enthusiastic and showing potential as good drivers. They often come into Club100, do maybe two or three seasons, and then move on to other forms of racing.
“ Over the last three years, we’ ve had 483 drivers migrate from us into owner-driver racing – either trying it out as a one-off experience or doing
