Karting Pathway
The F. A. T. Karting League offers regional championships using electric karts more cost-effective fixed location outdoor karting at three circuits – in Milton Keynes in the midlands, Sandown Park in Surrey, and Tamworth in Staffordshire.
Moving outdoors provides a fresh set of challenges for aspiring young karters as Daytona Motorsports’ Dan Prince explains:“ Our circuits are three of the longest in the UK – they’ re wider, they feel much more open and there’ s more space on track, so you can get more karts out at once.”

Arrive and Drive championships offer close racing across many age groups, including adults and the upper level of arrive-anddrive and aligning with Motorsport UK will only add to that potential.“ There are countless success stories and talented drivers who’ ve come through Daytona, so it makes sense to formally slot into the pathway,” adds Prince.
“ Ellis McKenzie won the F. A. T. Karting League; Logan McAlister and Jamie Tiley-Gooden have all won in Club100, while Arvid Lindblad started at Daytona when he was six. Now, when a young driver asks,‘ what’ s next?’, we can work with the Motorsport UK team to signpost them towards the next recognised step in their karting pathway or wider motorsport career.”
The Daniel Ricciardo Series( DRS), which began in 2019, runs championships for drivers aged eight and over, with a range of ageappropriate karts and categories. Its events run at flagship venues including Shenington, Rye House, Buckmore Park, Clay Pigeon and Silverstone, and include 50 minutes of racing, with a 12-minute long Grand Final at each event.
To maintain driving standards, newcomers must first be certified to enter by taking part in an Academy Day. This takes place on the Saturday morning of each race weekend and involves four 10-minute practice
