Karting Pathway
INDOOR RACING At the base of the karting pathway pyramid is indoor karting, and the British Indoor Kart Championship( BIKC) run by TeamSport, which has over 30 venues across the UK.
Motorsport UK partnered with TeamSport in 2020 to promote the BIKC, which has since grown into one of the world’ s largest motorsport competitions. The Girls Karting Academy was subsequently launched in 2024 to increase participation and create more opportunities for female drivers, with thousands of young girls having now experienced the sport at venues across the UK.
The BIKC has revolutionised the karting ladder by offering accessible, competitive karting for all. Competitors can enter the Cadet, Junior or Senior categories by purchasing a TeamSport Grid membership – which includes the Kart Indoor( KI) licence required for the BIKC – and posting a qualifying lap time at a TeamSport venue. Drivers can then progress through local and regional rounds to the national finals, where prizes include a fully funded place in Club100.
MOVING OUTDOORS The appeal of going faster and experiencing different conditions often draws people to want to try outdoor karting in arrive-and-drive sessions or competitions. The three Daytona Motorsport venues are all NKA approved and offer the perfect way for people to take the next step after indoor karting who want to race in a competitive but controlled environment.
