NOTICE OF JUDGMENT IN THE MATTER OF X(‘ THE COMPETITOR’) – APPLICATION FOR REMISSION

It follows that despite having satisfactorily completed his mandatory re-education, the first of the breaches that brings Mr Hilton before us, which reactivated the 12-week suspension, was committed no more than 6 days after the return of his 2025 competition licence and must have been at the very first event he entered.
CONCLUSION
7. The breaches that lead to these proceedings were serious. Mr Hilton breached the yellow flag regulations by not reducing speed where firstly static, and then waved yellow flags were displayed to protect marshals who were on track. The remaining offences all involved contact with another competitor’ s car, and on two occasions prevented the other competitor from finishing the race. All of these, like the yellow flag offences, raise serious safety concerns.
1. This matter comes before the National Court on an application to remit a Suspension of Motorsport UK’ s recognition of the Competitor’ s Belgian Competition Licence.
2. The Decision of the Court is that the application is refused. We make no other orders.
3. Our fully reasoned judgment will follow as soon as possible, and it is that which carries effect. This Notice is simply to inform the parties of the Decision and is of no further regulatory effect.

8. We have considered the option of further mandatory re-education. We have heard that Mr Hilton is already benefitting from further development, specific to his needs, arranged with his team. We strongly support that, since we are satisfied that there is a real necessity.
9. However, in these circumstances we take the view that a disciplinary element must take priority over reeducation in a further penalty.
10. Accordingly, Mr Hilton’ s competition licence is suspended for 12 weeks, from 12 August 2026 to midnight on 03 November 2026.
11. Mr Hilton is to contribute £ 500 to the costs of these proceedings.
