CHAPTER 5 OFFICIALS- PART A Appendix 11- Emergency and Medical Officials
• The duties and responsibilities of all Officials are detailed in Ch. 5.
• The relevant general provisions of App. 2 to this Chapter apply together with the specific obligations in this Appendix.
1. Medical Arrangements
1.1. All medical staff must be adequately qualified, have appropriate registration with their professional body, and have a valid suitability check( DBS / PVG) through the ASN or subscribed to the DBS Update Service. Details of further requirements are listed below.
1.2. Anyone who has a restriction or sanction on their practice must notify the ASN. The ASN Licence may be suspended until these are removed.
1.3. Full details of equipment required and duties of Medical personnel are given in Ch. 10.
2. Emergency and Medical Officials 2.1. For specific requirements for units and equipment please refer to Ch. 11.
3. Doctors 3.1. All Doctors attending motorsport Events, must be ASN Licensed. 3.2. Anyone who ceases to be General Medical Council( GMC) registered will have their ASN Licence removed. 3.3. All Doctors must ensure the equipment necessary for the proper performance of their duties is available.
3.4. It is recommended that all Doctors should wear readily identifiable( preferably red) protective overalls or tabards. The backs should display the word Doctor.
3.5. All Doctors must‘ sign-on’ and where appropriate produce their ASN Doctor Licence at any Event at which they are officiating. They are under control of the Chief Medical Officer( where present) and Clerk of the Course at all times.
3.6. Doctor Licence
3.6.1 To be ASN Licensed, applicants must be currently registered with the GMC with a valid licence to practice, be able to work independently, and be in possession of adequate valid malpractice insurance. New applicants will be required to provide a Form 4 appraisal document and a medical CV.
3.7. Doctor( S) Licence
4. Eligible Paramedics
3.7.1 GMC registered Doctors who are no longer Residents and require supervision. Supervision requirements must be discussed and arranged with the Chief Medical Officer of the Event which they are working at.
3.7.2 To be ASN licensed, applicants must be currently registered with the GMC with a valid licence to practice, and be in possession of adequate valid malpractice insurance. New applicants will be required to provide a medical CV, a Form 4 appraisal document( where an appraisal has been conducted) or a letter of support from their educational Dean.
4.1. All Paramedics attending motorsport Events, must be ASN licensed.
4.2. To be ASN Licensed, applicants must be Health and Care Professions Council( HCPC) registered for a minimum of 2 years, currently in possession of a valid licence to practice, and have adequate valid
