Chair’ s Message

Motorsport today continues to evolve at remarkable speed. The past year has reminded us just how dynamic, resilient and inspiring our community truly is. Across every discipline, from club grassroots to world-class events, the UK remains a global leader in motorsport, a nation powered by innovation, expertise and an enduring passion for competition.
As the National Governing Body, our responsibility is twofold.
David Richards CBE
We power the sport
Every day, we work to ensure motorsport is safe, fair and fun for everyone involved. Central to this are the National Competition Rules, the framework that protects the integrity of the sport. These rules set out how competition is run, how safety is upheld, and how fairness is maintained across all disciplines. They are the foundation on which our entire ecosystem stands, enabling thousands of competitors and volunteers to take part in confidence.
This year has seen significant progress across licensing, permitting, safeguarding and regulations, strengthening that foundation even further. Our community of competitors, volunteers, officials and clubs continues to demonstrate exceptional dedication, delivering more than 3,500 permitted events nationwide. Their commitment keeps British motorsport running with professionalism and pride.
We also power the future
Motorsport is changing- shaped by new technologies, shifting expectations, and a new generation eager to get involved. Vision 2030 sets out our plan to meet this moment. From strengthening the member experience, to modernising our digital ecosystem, to championing sustainability and inclusive pathways, we are preparing the sport for long-term growth. This is not just about protecting our heritage; it is about embracing innovation and ensuring that motorsport remains relevant, responsible and rewarding for years to come.
This past year, we have deepened support for clubs, expanded opportunities for new participants, and invested in the systems and standards that will make taking part simpler and more enjoyable. We have seen progress across environmental initiatives, volunteer development, and technical leadership- evidence of a community not just keeping pace with change, but leading it.
None of this would be possible without the extraordinary people who power the sport. To our 64,000 competitors, 11,000 volunteers and officials, 600 clubs, and the thousands of individuals who contribute behind the scenes, a sincere thank you. Your passion is the engine of everything we do, and the reason British motorsport continues to set the benchmark on the world stage.
As we look ahead, our focus remains clear: to get more people enjoying motorsport, more often. By supporting our current community, reconnecting with those who’ ve stepped away, and inspiring new fans to take their first steps into the sport, we will build an even stronger foundation for the future.
Together, we will continue to power the sport, and its future.
