Case No. J2026 / 35
DISCIPLINARY HEARING – Ewan Robertson
• Mr Nick Bamber on behalf of Motorsport UK
• Ewan Robertson
• These proceedings were conducted via Microsoft Teams.
1. Ewan Robertson has accrued 12 penalty points on his Competition Licence within a period of 12 months. Accordingly, he has been summoned before the Court for consideration of further penalty pursuant to NCR Ch. 2 App. 12 Art. 1.6.
2. The details of these breaches and penalties are as follows:
a) Scottish Legends Cars Championship, Knockhill, Heat 2, 17th May 2026( 15:38),( Ch. 12 App. 7 Art. 1.5f), 3 points.
b) Scottish Legends Cars Championship, Oulton Park, 7th June 2026( 19:40),( Ch. 12 App. 7 Art1.5f), 3 points.
c) Scottish Legends Cars Championship, Croft, Race 10, 22nd August 2026( 18:45),( Ch. 12 App. 7 Art1.8), 3 points.
d) Scottish Legends Cars Championship, Croft, Race 20, 23rd August 2026( 18:50),( Ch. 12 App. 7 Art. 1.8), 3 points.
3. Mr Bamber on behalf of Motorsport UK submitted to the Court that Ewan Robertson was not making the mistakes of a novice but had simply“ gone for gaps that did not exist”. A period of driver training would be more appropriate in this case than a simple suspension of Ewan Robertson’ s Competition Licence.
4. The recommendation that Nick Bamber made to the Court was that there should be: a) a single event suspension together with
b) an interim suspension of Ewan Robertson’ s competition licence pending completion by Mr Robertson of a minimum of 6 hours’ instruction by an independent ARDS grade‘ A’ or‘ S’ instructor selected from the Motorsport UK approved list and whose identity must first be notified to those at Motorsport UK, and that subject to receiving a satisfactory report from such instructor Ewan Roberston’ s competition licence could be re-instated.
5. The Court was impressed that Ewan Robertson accepted full responsibility for the breaches and was not averse to further training.
DECISION
6. After careful consideration the Court accepts that the recommendation made by Mr Bamber was both constructive and appropriate in the circumstances of this case and accordingly the Court made an order in those terms, namely that Ewan Robertson’ s competition licence would be suspended pending a satisfactory completion of six hours’ driver training. The Court did not mandate an event suspension as it was inevitable that Mr Robertson would miss his next event by virtue of the Court’ s requirement for driver training.
7. Mr Robertson is referred to the Paper entitled National Court Mandated ARDS Instructor Appointment( with which he must comply) a copy of which will be provided to him by Motorsport UK.
8. Mr Robertson is ordered to pay a contribution to the costs of these proceedings in the sum of £ 250.00
