Edition 4 of the 2026 National Competition Rules was released this month incorporating several regulatory amendments and clarifications across the National Competition Rules, the details of which can

be found via the Approved Changes section of the Motorsport UK website. Regulation amendments taking effect from 1st January 2027 can be found within National Competition Rules Chapter 22.

Patrick‘ Paddy’ McNally was a major figure in motorsport who transcended the achievements of many of his contemporaries in raising the profile of the sport in the late 20th Century.

Born in Gravesend, Kent and educated at Stonyhurst College, McNally was a journalist for Autosport magazine in the 1960s and competed in sports cars but it was the rapidlygrowing commercial side of the sport that attracted his attention.

Dave Tasker was one of those rare characters who managed to make an impact wherever he went, and British motorsport can count itself very lucky indeed that he called many of our club championships and race circuits‘ home’.

Dr. Jean-Jacques Issermann was a pioneer in motorsport safety and his legacy is one that benefits everyone in the sport.

Dr Issermann upgraded medical facilities at circuits, introduced an emergency medical vehicle and pioneered the practice of a doctor’ s car before introducing medical extrication teams, and innovation that has saved many lives, making motorsport a much safer environment over the last 35 years.
