SUSTAINABILITY NEWS
Introducing Simon Wright-Jones
I am delighted to have joined Motorsport UK in
January 2026 as Sustainability Manager, bringing with me more than 15 years’ experience working across sustainability and sport. My career has taken me from mega sporting events and iconic venues around the world to more recent consultancy work within Formula 1— experiences that have shaped a practical, solutions‐focused approach to sustainability delivery.
Last month Motorsport UK welcomed members of Starter Motor, a charity which features on the Inclusion Hub, and opened our headquarters to over 200 students. The visitors were able to watch presentations on pathways and careers in motorsport, plus we were joined by two Oxford Brookes University students from the college’ s motorsport team, who shared their experiences.
The Inclusion Hub was created to bring all these opportunities together in one central, easy-to-use platform. Our goal is to make motorsport more accessible, helping young people understand where to start, what is available, and how they can pursue their interests, whether that is in engineering, driving, volunteering, or other areas of the sport.
Motorsport presents a unique and exciting challenge. It is a sport built on performance, competition and constant innovation, qualities that are equally critical when addressing sustainability. I am passionate about working constructively across the sport to deliver practical, credible sustainability progress that supports long-term resilience without compromising performance, competition or innovation.
At Motorsport UK, my focus will be on collaboration: recognising the specific challenges the sport faces, unlocking opportunities, and turning ambition into action. I firmly believe motorsport’ s culture of engineering excellence and problem-solving places it in a strong position to lead by example and drive meaningful change.
I’ m very much looking forward to working closely with clubs, event organisers, circuits, teams and commercial partners to help ensure the sport not only adapts, but thrives for many years to come, both on track and beyond.

Sustainable Pump Fuel
Motor club members and race teams can now make a more environmentally friendly choice, following the installation of the country’ s first SUSTAIN pump which dispenses race fuel containing 50 per cent sustainable content.
The 1000-litre overground fuel pump has been installed at Bibury’ s Classic Motor Hub. It offers accessible, high-performance fuel for road and race applications and was created specifically with classic cars in mind.
