Girls on Track UK celebrates its 10-year anniversary
Motorsport UK’ s Girls on Track programme celebrated a decade of inspiring and supporting girls and women across motorsport on Saturday 31st January, marking its 10-year anniversary with a special event at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club in London.
The milestone celebration brought together industry professionals, partners, Ambassadors and members of the Girls on Track UK community to reflect on ten years of progress, impact and opportunity. Since launching in 2016, the programme has supported thousands of young people through education initiatives, events, mentoring and career pathways, helping to open doors and increase representation across motorsport and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics( STEM).
The afternoon began with a welcome from Girls on Track UK Programme Manager, Jenny Fletcher, who reflected on the programme’ s journey over the past decade. Attendees also viewed a success story featuring contributions from our industry. Ambassador, Claire Williams OBE, highlighted the lasting impact Girls on Track UK has had on individuals and the wider motorsport industry.
Throughout the afternoon, guests took part in a series of Q & A sessions and networking opportunities, including industry-focused breakout discussions across areas such as Engineering, Communications and Marketing, and Content Creation. These sessions encouraged meaningful conversations and enabled attendees to connect with others working in, or aspiring to work in, similar areas of the sport.

Speaking at the event, Jenny Fletcher said,“ Over the last 10 years, Girls on Track UK has grown into a powerful and supportive community that continues to inspire and connect people with real opportunities across motorsport. Seeing so many people come together to celebrate how far we’ ve come— and to look ahead to what’ s next— is incredibly special.”
Motorsport UK CEO Hugh Chambers added,“ Girls on Track UK has played a vital role in broadening access to motorsport and demonstrating the wealth of opportunities available across our sport. Over the past decade, the programme has helped challenge perceptions, build confidence and create meaningful pathways for girls and young women. We’ re incredibly proud of what has been achieved and remain fully committed to supporting its continued growth and impact in the years ahead.”
The event concluded with a celebratory toast to the programme, followed by a group photograph in the iconic Royal Automobile Club rotunda, collectively commemorating a landmark moment in the Girls on Track UK journey.
Girls on Track UK’ s online community is free to join and open to women of all ages who are interested in motorsport and STEM. Members gain access to events, networking opportunities, industry insights and support designed to help them explore and progress their journeys within the sport.
