CEO’ s MESSAGE

I always think that January is a time of transition, a chance to set the tone for the year ahead after reflecting on the one just passed. Judging by the energy and momentum built over the last month we are set for a great 2026 season.
The year kicked off with the first Bicester Scramble of 2026 and despite the bitterly cold weather, it was brilliant to see so many enthusiasts gathering to share their love of motoring and our sport. It was a timely reminder that we are all part of a large community that is ready to embrace the year ahead as well as the weather!
That sense of renewal was mirrored in the busy programme of officials’ seminars across the country and throughout the first two months of the year. For those less familiar, these seminars are about much more than just regulation updates or procedural briefings; though those are, of course, vital. They are an opportunity for our community to connect face-to-face, share knowledge, question and to learn. Again, the weather was a challenge, with a huge snowstorm blowing into Wales right on target with our first seminar in Llandrindod Wells. But apart from one delegate who‘ kissed the Armco with his Volvo’, everyone managed to safely negotiate icy roads that were more akin to the Col du Turini.
of our sport from grassroots to world champions where we toast the winners at all levels of our sport.
Every champion has a fascinating story to tell, the trials and tribulations of just getting to the start line, let alone stringing it all together to win a title. Some of our champions have travelled thousands of competitive miles while others have balanced professional careers and family commitments. And that is much the same as all our licence holders and without their determination and commitment we would not have a sport.
Equally there are those that don’ t stand on the podium or shake the champagne after the race, and they are the very fabric and backbone of the sport. At the Night of Champions we delight in recognising and celebrating our wonderful volunteers and officials all of whom are making events happen week in, week out.
